Fitness Classes

Flow Yoga Summer Schedule - Starting July 1st
(no classes on 7/4, 8/5, & 8/8)
Punch Cards: $60.00/10 classes or $8.00 Drop in

Tuesdays, 5:30-7:00 p.m. - Level 1
This is a yoga class for all levels designed to awaken bodily awareness and help form a union between mind, body, and breath. Classes will include enlivening warm-up movements, invigorating standing poses, calming sitting forward bends and twists, and core/back strengthening mat work. Classes conclude with breathing and deep relaxation to leave you feeling light, balanced, and content.

Fridays, 5:30-7:00 p.m. - Level 2
This is a continuation of the existing Flow Yoga class. In addition to the poses done in Level 1, this class will feature sequences of related poses, around the breath, that create a state of flow (like sun salutations). This class is meant to be a bit more of a challenge to your strength, flexibility, endurance, and will.

Instructor Olivia Schroeder has been studying and practicing various types of hatha yoga, including Iyengar, Bikrim, Vinyasa, and Ashtanga for the past eight years.  She enjoys teaching yoga and sharing her knowledge of how yoga deepens body awareness and benefits health.

Aerobics - Let's Dance
M/W/F   8:30 – 10:00 a.m.   Ongoing
$105/30 classes, $80/20 classes, or $45/10 classes, or $5.00 drop in

Dance Aerobics is a fun mixed-impact program for intermediate to advanced-level students guaranteed to deliver a great cardiovascular workout.  Exercise routines are choreographed using upbeat music to get you moving!  Also included in your program is a free-weight segment and floor work for toning your body.  Come and try out your first class free.  Dropins always welcome.    Instructor is M. Solomonson

Pilates
Mondays & Wednesdays   5:30 – 6:30 p.m.
& Fridays  noon - 1 p.m.   Ongoing
Punch cards:  $100/20 classes, $50/10 classes or $6.50 drop in

Pilates is an exercise program that works the core muscles of the body (upper and lower back, abdominals, and gluteus maximi), and can be modified for all bodies and abilities. This class will increase your strength and flexibility, tone your major muscles, and can even reduce or eliminate long-term aches such as lower back pain.  Instructor is Rebecca Cheek.  She encourages new students to arrive 5 minutes early.

Power Sculpt
 
Tuesdays & Thursdays   12:00 – 12:50 p.m.   Ongoing

This is a muscle conditioning class that will incorporate the use of weights, bands, fitness balls and pilates-based exercises to tone and sculpt your entire body.  Great for all levels.  We will incorporate moves to meet your individual fitness needs. Instructor Julia Clemons comes with 13 years of experience.

Cardio Blast
Mondays  12:00 - 12:50 p.m.    Ongoing
Punch cards:  $80.00/20 visits or $45.00/10 visits (cards may be used for Power Sculpt and/or Cardio Blast), or $5.00 drop in

This is a high-energy class designed to improve both anaerobic and aerobic capacity for a total body workout.  Cardio bursts of power are alternated with lower intensity cardiovascular and some muscle work to burn more calories, improve cardiovascular strength and increase muscle conditioning.  All moves are shown with high- and low-impact options so that the intensity of the class may be adjusted to the participant's fitness level.  Instructor Julia Clemons comes with 13 years of experience. 

Tai Chi/Qigong
Tuesdays & Thursdays   5:30 - 7:00 p.m.
July 1 - Aug. 28 for $40.00 or $4.00 drop in

This is a class for beginning and intermediate level students.  Learn and practice Tai Chi in Yang Long form style.  Some Qigong exercises, such as standing meditation Zhan Zhuang will be introduced, along with the Eight Brocades as a warm-up exercise.  The health benefits of Tai Chi and Qigong are emphasized, as well as principles of moderation, gradualness, patience, and perseverance.  Instructors are John Anderson and Roger Hart. 

Tae Kwon Do
 
Mondays & Wednesdays   Ongoing   $30/month
Youth (7+ yrs. old):  5:30 – 6:30 p.m.
Adults:  6:30 – 8:30 p.m.

Tae Kwon Do emphasizes self-control and self-discipline.  It is an excellent way to garner confidence and a positive self-image.  Students routinely excel in the classroom and extracurricular activities because they learn to focus their energy and center their mind.  If you are interested in the martial arts, you are encouraged to attend a class and meet with instructor Tim Anderson prior to registering for the class.
