Tae Kwon Do emphasizes self-control and self-discipline. It is an excellent way to garner confidence and a positive self-image. Students routinely excel in the classroom and extracurricular activities because they learn to focus their energy and center their mind. If you are interested in the martial arts, you are encouraged to attend a class and meet with instructor Tim Anderson prior to registering for the class.
Join a parent/child play group atmosphere to provide a place for young children to play and be active inside. The play equipment is designed for newborn through 4 years of age.
The Mentors Matter program matches positive, healthy adults in the community with children ages 6-16 who would like a mentor. The mentor pairs participate in fun recreational activities based on their individual interests. Activities may range from sports and fitness to movies or baking cookies and making crafts. For information contact Shannon Rackowski at the Newport Recreation Center 265-7783 or 265-7179.
